Not long ago, we embarked on an exciting journey: Agathe, her hens, her cows, her recipes, her pastry tools, her devoted assistants, and her beloved local ingredients left the charming biscuit bakery in Nyon for a brand new home in Villeneuve, nestled in the heart of Haut-Lac. You're probably wondering: "A new address for Biscuits Agathe?" Absolutely, and we're delighted to share with you the reasons for this choice. A paradise of delicacies for our Little Swiss Biscuit Lovers.
In our old premises, space was starting to run out. Driven by the desire to grow and offer you even more little Swiss biscuits, healthy and local, we considered several options. And finally, we built the biscuit bakery of our dreams in Villeneuve, with a breathtaking view of the Alps. Everything isn't ready yet, but soon, a shop with a tasting area will open its doors, offering the full range of our freshly baked biscuits. With a bit of luck, you might even get a glimpse behind the scenes and meet our head chef or our assistants. Furthermore, we will be able to offer a meeting space, perfect for combining work and gourmet pleasures.
Our ambition: to become the first eco-responsible biscuit bakery.
Our adherence to the BCorp movement at the end of 2022 demonstrates our commitment to a smaller environmental impact. We have installed solar panels to move towards total energy autonomy. Heat from the ovens is recovered and redistributed throughout the biscuit bakery to heat the building. We are also exploring the use of renewable biogas for our ovens, in collaboration with local partners. Our goal: to be 100% powered by renewable energy as soon as possible! As for gourmet delights, they remain at the heart of our projects! Our new, more spacious workshop encourages the development of new recipes (Qamil and his team will be happy about that).
And Agathe has a big surprise in store for you with a small secret room... but shhh, the secret must be kept a little longer! Vaud once, Vaud always!
In the momentum of this new, somewhat audacious but exciting stage, there was one non-negotiable criterion for us: to remain rooted in the Canton of Vaud! This splendid region, which has hosted Biscuits Agathe since its very beginnings in 1954, is full of passionate producers and exceptional ingredients for our biscuits. We look forward to continuing the adventure with our long-standing partners and forging new ties in the months and years to come.
