Before hitting the water, a mandatory stop at the changing room where I'm given all the necessary equipment to face the winter cold. A dry suit to stay perfectly dry and giveaway boots to complete the gear: I'm ready to become one with this lake that offers me its paddles.
And off we go for a timeless moment!
Comfortably settled in my boat (I'll skip the eventful launch), one detail surprises me: the calm reigning on the water. Not a sound, not a wave, not a boat on the horizon... we are like alone in the world and this atmosphere is magical. The ride is even more so because after a few minutes, the sun finally pierces the clouds, illuminating the majestic shores that rise on either side of our kayaks.
I'm the queen of the wooooorld!
A few hundred paddle strokes later, we dock on a small islet for a tea break. The chief paddler offers me cookies, which I gently decline, and instead, I offer a general round of Oranneigées to everyone, to go with the pristine scenery before us. It's a perfect moment, a moment to myself, a change from the crowded ski slopes... ;)
The result: 3 hours of adventure on the water, dry, accompanied by small Swiss cookies in a benevolent atmosphere and a setting worthy of the most beautiful winter tales... makes you want to get your feet wet? Or chicken out? (Isn't that right, Aglaé?)
