Myrtille is heavier than expected.
After a few small pedaling efforts (we almost never made it), we finally reached the ancient medieval city and headed straight for its castle and keep. I got off the cargo bike and looked at this imposing tower that we were about to climb. Slightly tired Totally exhausted, I insisted on a Secrets de Gruyère break to regain my organic strength. They are so good with their crunchy and melting texture all at once…
Energy boosted to the max and dry weather (I may have supplemented with some Zélés aux Z’herbes for even more efficiency), we started the climb and slowly but surely reached the top of this 33-meter tower. And there, madness! The view is breathtaking over the town of Bulle and all of Gruyère surrounding it… we feast our eyes. It's so beautiful at this time of year, with its shimmering autumn colors.
And you know what? The keep is open until October 31st, the perfect time to go on a journey back in time. But beware! Don't forget to bring your favourite packet of small Swiss biscuits to give you courage for the climb…
You don't bubble at Bulle Castle
A few weeks ago, Myrtille and I headed to the canton of Fribourg to take part in an alpine cattle descent (hello Carameuhles). While eagerly awaiting the parade of cows, the rain started to fall heavily! It was raining cats and dogs... ;)
Without hesitation, we decided to change our plans and instead seek shelter in the Middle Ages! So we set off towards the town of Bulle. Just its name already evokes a journey.
