And so I set off for Gruyères to dive into the past for a day. As soon as I entered this village steeped in history, the magic began to work. Women, men, and children dressed in traditional medieval costumes invited me to dance in a circle... and I was immediately transported into this enchanted interlude.
I continue to pound the pavement to the castle walls, and there time stops. Well, it mainly goes back about ten centuries to take me to the Middle Ages!
I don't know where to look: Minstrels, stonemasons, knights, and jesters bustle about in a joyful din. Sausages sizzle on large grills, blacksmiths sharpen their arrowheads, falconers proudly display their birds of prey, and the smells of Gruyère AOP make my mouth water.
A quick charcuterie and Chipies Choc break, then I opt for a workshop with the master glassmaker... Agathe, glassblower! It's an extraordinary moment, where I learn the ropes of this ancestral craft. I then make my first stained-glass window, and it's not bad at all! ;)
But an odor I mentioned earlier continues to follow me... or maybe it's the other way around, who knows? Either way, one thing is certain, I have to taste it! I finally arrive at the scent of my desire, and a few meters further, a tasting of Gruyère AOP of different ages awaits me.
After just a few bites, an idea came to me: to make the very first organic Swiss biscuit with aged Gruyère AOP. You know the rest... after a few trials in the kitchen, the recipe is ready, and not only have Les Secrets de Gruyère bio become the first Bio Suisse certified biscuits (minimum 90% ingredients of Swiss origin), but they have also been waiting for you on the Shop for several months now!
