Last week, as I was daydreaming about my summer break in the scorching heat, I had an epiphany: Summer
will be is hot!
Very (too?) hot!
So I set off in search of refreshments to beat the heat.
I start by pouring myself a large glass of
Ticinese gazzosa then open a packet of
lemon rounds to accompany my drink.

Once my brain had cooled down to room temperature, I started thinking about
the adventure that could complete this quest for cool.
Cool mode: loading…
And suddenly, ta-da! I found it! I'm going to try an experience rich in thrills AND refreshment: The Aare River float!
Without hesitation, I took Aglaé, Myrtille, an inflatable unicorn, liters of gazzosa and
lots of small Swiss biscuits… and off we went for the big thrill!
It was in Schäwbis, Thun, just as the sun began to set, that my companions and I launched our horned vessel, alongside many other boats of all kinds, to float down the Aare.

And what a sight! The magnificent Bernese Alps escort the 25 kilometres of this aquatic expedition, and from our unicorn, we let out great "Aahs" of wonder on the Aare.
Then, after a short break for
Almond Love (not even soggy from
their our little forced dip) and shared with neighboring canoes, we docked at the Marzili baths, right in the heart of Bern. I must say that the arrival in the capital, passing the Federal Palace, captivated Aglaé and Myrtille, who were frolicking in the water.

Happy and refreshed, it seems our quest for cool was fruitful!
